Reeds Find Petersfield Too Strong

In broad terms, Reeds have been on a winning run for several seasons, however in rugby, there is no linear line to success, it’s a roller coaster of peaks and troughs, swings and roundabouts, ups and downs, and as Reeds have marched up the tables, they are meeting experienced opposition and they are struggling for success at the present time. It’s how the team copes with these changes that that will define Reeds season. Although Reeds suffered a heavy defeat last Saturday, they battled away for the full eighty, there was no question of throwing in the towel and they certainly have the personnel with the right mindset to climb back up the table. Reeds were up the hill in the first half and conceded an early try by way of an intercept try that gave the Petersfield winger an unopposed run to the try line, Kerran Beavis touched down after a break by Marcus Clark Reeds prolific winger to get Reeds on the score board, but the visitors took their chances inspite of good early possession by Reeds and that gave them significant territorial advantage, and their pacy, well drilled, backs had clocked up five tries and a twenty four point lead by the change round. Reeds had the slope in their favour in the second half and they certainly spent time in Petersfield territory, however, the visitors sensed that their lead was good enough to allow them to attack from deep within their own half, and they did that with some success collecting another three tries. It wasn’t all bad news for Reeds, they responded with another two tries, and Marcus Clark, Reeds winger earned his Man of the Match award for another outstanding performance, especially the try saving tackle on his opposite number, try line bound in the last few moments
