REEDS WEYBRIDGE V PURLEY JOHN FISHERSURREY LEAGUE TWO
HOME WALK OVER
Reeds face Cranleigh at Whiteley Village next Saturday and that has the potential to settle the issue of Reeds promotion prospects.
There were no league fixtures scheduled for last Saturday, and early season, many junior club members made alternative arrangements, however, poor weather at the end of February resulted in postponed league matches and the RFU decided that last Saturday would be a league match day. Many of Purley John Fisher’s players had plans to be elsewhere and that resulted in them having to forfeit the fixture and Reeds Weybridge were awarded the five points for a Home Walk Over.
The position at the top of Surrey Two is now becoming clearer, the two top sides, at the end of the season, will be promoted. Currently, Reeds Weybridge have sixty eight points and third placed Cranleigh have fifty four points.
If Reeds were to lose all three remaining league matches and Cranleigh were to win their three remaining matches with bonus points from each game, they would clock up fifteen points, that would give them sixty nine points, one more than Reeds and earn them promotion.
