U5-U11 Rugby for Boys and Girls

Hello there and thank-you for your interest in Reeds rugby RFC.

We are a community rugby club who are focussed on developing boys and girls in a family environment on Sunday mornings. We cater for children of all abilities from ages of 4-11 with coaching based on England rugby’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. We are committed to providing enjoyment for everybody- our emphasis is for children to develop as fantastic human beings as well as rugby players.

We have no caps on numbers and all children have an equal opportunity to play. There is no need to have played rugby before and in fixtures we field teams of mixed abilities with focus on developing teamwork and making new friends. From age 6 (Year 2) all our children have the opportunity to play in festivals and fixtures against other clubs.

Our environment is perfect for families. Many of our players have siblings who play at the club and we are extremely proud of our thriving girls section which has one of the strongest and largest contingents in the county. Our catering on Sunday morning is legendary and a very popular refuge for Mums, Dads and players following their training.

Another highlight of our year is an end of season tour to which all of the family are welcome. Many of the current 1st XV started in our minis and several Reeds minis have gone on to gain representative honours at age group and senior level.

Minis Dates & Times

Minis train at Whitely Village (map link) on Sundays at the following times:-

  • Under 5’s- 11’s (Reception- Year 3) 9.30am

The registration desk for U5’s and 6’s is located near the clubhouse entrance and all other players should report to their coaches at their allocated pitches. On your 1st day there is no need to pre-register, just come along and ask at the registration desk for your pitch.

Coronavirus update

We are currently training in line with RFU and Public Health England guidance. We remain open and welcome to new joiners. The current guidance is such that now is an ideal time for new joiners to come and try Rugby.
