U21 Team Information
We have a very successful U21s side which we consider a vital link in the player pathway from Minis, Youth, and Colts to players playing for the Club’s Senior sides, which encourages players from U18 to U21, whether they play regularly on a Saturday, or whether they are studying at University or College, or on a gap year, to play for and stay connected with us. Our U21’s have regularly played in the Plate competition and have won it 3 times in the last 4 seasons. Many of our current 1st XV have previously played U21 rugby for the Club.
Our U21s play in the main Surrey U21 Cup competition which is made up of 4 starting leagues of 4 teams each. All teams play each other with one game played in September and two games played over the Christmas period. Based on the ranking in each qualifying league the U21’s then play in a knock-out competition in Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield competitions over the Easter period with the finals on Easter Monday.
